Jennifer McMahon is the queen of atmosphere and the ghost story and we love her around here. The Drowning Kind weaves together two places in time (modern day Vermont and the city in the 1930’s) and tells the story of a haunting body of water in both. McMahon never loses her ability to conjure spine tingling chills and create highly evocative horror. Let’s read and discussion at our own caution.
